There are similar form and the flower of the color, but, in fact, is two kinds. It is a gladiolus that the middle of the flower becomes the first without white. It is a cockscomb that the second does not become without white. And the small leaf is Enkianthus perulatus. It is the leaf which grew straight of the gladiolus to be in contrast to a leaf of the Enkianthus perulatus. I am that the name was attached from Gladius of the Latin if I express a sword from gladiolus のまめちしきですが, the form of this ゜ leaf which grew straight. Originally I am that I am imported in Meiji again and came to be cultivated when the origin runs in the Mediterranean Sea from Asia Minor without rooting well though there are two areas between the あふりかの tropics and South Africa and entered in Japan in the Edo era.
